Finally- An Introduction

I'm finally getting around to starting my blog. I love reading others, so I figured I'd jump right in.

Where to start, let's see. I'm a 27-year old teacher who married the love of my life last June. We just purchased a home together and are living in wedded bliss. Or something like that :)

I've had a lot of changes over the past year, and those of you who know me well know that I HATE CHANGE! But that's the way life goes so I'm going to be happy about it. Plus it hasn't all been so bad...

1. Got married- Definitely the biggest and most important change. It's the most amazing feeling having someone with whom you love with all your heart tell you he feels the same way. And to share with family and friends was great, the best day of my life by far.

2. Moved in together-Since we decided to be "traditional" and didn't live together until after the wedding, there was a lot of adjustments involved. Sharing everything after living in my own home for 3 years was hard at first, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

3. Sold my townhouse- I loved that place. I was so proud to say I owned my own home at the age of 23, and it was a beautiful home at that, if I do say so myself. I had a lot of memories there, but was ready to start my new life with the hubby. So the week before the wedding, I moved out and moved into an apartment which leads to #4.....

4. New state- To us Marylanders, VA is like a foreign country. At least, that's how it felt to me. But since DH had a great job in VA already, and I was pretty much guaranteed to get a job regardless of where I was, we decided to make the big move. Plus it's a great place to raise a family. My only concern so far has been the lack of diversity...

5. New job- I worked at the same school, in the same grade, in the same classroom for 5 years. Did I mention that I don't like change? I was very sad to leave this school, as it had a close knit staff and I loved the children, despite their problems :-). Teaching in VA is so different, but I'm starting to get used to it.

6. New home- Our apartment in VA was cramped, and was a far cry from the amount of space we were used to. Immediately after the honeymoon, we began our housing search. It was frustrating because everything we liked was too expensive, or in bad condition. We got in a bidding war over one house and lost, but it was a great thing because we eventually found our dream home at a great price! The housing crisis wasn't such a bad thing after all. We moved in at the end of September and couldn't be happier!

So much change in just one year. I can't wait to see what the rest of 2009 will bring!

Um. On this picture thing. I see it, but how can I put them through out the post - not just at the top :(
